Enchantments is located at the corner of East Center and Pitkin Street, in Manchester, Ct. This
building is the oldest standing commercial building in Manchester. In 1760 it was a Pitkin out
building for the Pitkin Farm, in the 1770's George Washington was said to have passed this
building, in 1812 it became the Cone Shop where the 2 wheel dump cart was invented. Later in
the 1900's there was an addition made to the building, it then became a market where they
served lunch called Pete’s Market, it was sold to another man named Pete so he kept the name.
By 1969-70 it was bought again and was used as a Real Estate office up until May of 2004 when
Enchantments was opened!!!
